About Dionne Turner

The discovery of self-love has fueled the life of young Dionne Turner. Dionne's journey to find a strong sense of self was often overshadowed growing up as a twin in Central Florida, and being mislabeled by her educators with S.L.D. (Slow learning disability) in the second grade. Her resilience at such an early age set the young Dionne apart. Refusing to accept their label she went on a quest to prove herself by shedding her low self-esteem and the awful stigma attached to S.L.D. With little help from her teachers who failed to cultivate her potential and the unrest of home life, Dionne spent many sleepless nights asking the question, "Why am I here?"

Lacking the functionality of the average domestic situation in her own home life, Dionne often witnessed scenes that would eventually wound her deeply. Dionne's mother thought it wise to dissolve the marriage. Dionne just nine years old was unable to grasp an understanding of all that transpired around her, she watched helplessly as her mother now a divorcee struggled through the years as a single parent raising four children without the benefit that a live in father can bring. Torn between her loyalties, this scenario also further contributed to Dionne's state of despair and frustration.

Despite those early tumultuous years, Dionne attributes both of her parents for her success today as a self-confident, speaker and motivator who shares her story with others about all of the things she has had to overcome. Her greatest life lessons has been the importance of self-accountability and your choices. Those pearls of wisdom came as a consequence of bad relationships Dionne had encountered. She realized that her own cry for love, acceptance and self-worth could not be found in the arms of another. Channeling her desire to be whole in a more positive manner, Dionne got started on developing self. Deep down inside of her she knew she was destined for greatness. Her first step towards self improvement was to enroll at Valencia Community College. Once again she set out to prove herself and test her limits. This paid off with Dionne making the Dean's list.

Dionne's apparent beauty and infectious spirit made her an instant hit at Lisa Maile's School of Modeling and Acting. This led to a successful career in modeling where Dionne placed First Runner Up, Miss Photogenic and Miss Public Relations in the Miss Black Orlando Pageant. All of this was a direct result of the time she had invested into restoring her once shattered self-esteem.

What once started out as a pursuit for self-love and discovery has extended to Dionne helping to stimulate and cultivate the potential in others. Her work as a youth counselor, teacher and motivational speaker allows her to demonstrate her passion for the healing and wholeness of others. Dionne is a stimulating, humorous, and empowering speaker whose sincerity transcends to the hearts and minds of her audiences. Her powerful platform of self-love and discovery gives unique insight into not only overcoming life's obstacles, but becoming successful along the way. This serves as the cornerstone for her company, S.L.D. Global Enterprises, Inc. which stands for Self Love Discovery. S.L.D. emphasizes the importance of honoring and embracing one's individuality. Dionne formed this company with the hopes that she can continue to impact the lives of others on a larger scale.

Dionne no longer needs to ask, "Why I am here?" She knows that her purpose is to assist others in being able to answer that tough question for themselves.
